Henna, Self Taught

My new book is about to hit the presses for the first limited edition private run in 2009. So many emails and questions have come my way over the last several months that I pursued pulling together a book of "how to teach yourself the art of henna tattooing." Now that book is finally near completion. See the dust cover below well as the first few pages.

The book measures 7in x 7in and will be at least 25 pages in length, it is in full color with photo examples and step-by-step instruction on "how-to"teach yourself the art of Henna tattooing.

This book includes my favorite tried and true recipe for henna paste, how to roll Mylar cone for henna application and more than a dozen Bajidoo original Henna designs for the hands and feet.

The publishing date is now set at June 12, with 2 to 3 weeks for delivery once an order is placed. The Book will be available in soft and hard cover. For more information feel free to email me directly:

Individual Hand Painted Bangle Snippet

East Oriental Dancer

Individual Video Snippet

Eastern Spice

Sweltering heat, sun baked earth and sand, sporatic plam trees peppering the landscape.... you can almost taste dried dates and fresh figs. The coffee is strong and sweet, in the markets the smell of spice is hangs thick in the air.

When the sun dies down and night sky blankets the horizon, the music raises up and the celebrations begin. It's here in the images set forth on this hand painted bangle, which has been created in a style reminiscent of the old world tapestries.

For Jackie, A Pictorial Evolution of the Belly Dancer

From the humility found in the delicate face of a desert flower.... the beautiful bedouin girl thrives.

On to the sensual showmenship era that developed  much later. The expressive fluidity of motion that makes up the foundation of the belly dance is nothing less than art.

This bangle was designed to reflect a bit of the rich history in a way that only an image can convey. Finally a sketch is worked out, hand painted touches are the inclusion of Designer Bindi --accented by Swarovski Crystals.

Art & Folktales "TUSK"

If to tie a string around your finger is to secure a list of "to do's" to the fate of being done...then to wear an elephant on your wrist is to declare a memory never be unspun. Tusk, is a Bangle design inspired by folktales and wishful thinking, and heart warming memories.

"How-To" Make Perfect Henna Paste & Design Lesson #1 Impressive Floral Made Easy

If you have seen my artwork, particularly under the "Bajidoo" title, then you are already familiar with my love of henna and all things henna based.

Much of my artwork is influenced by or incorporates some element the art of Henna tattoos.

I decided to upload a few video's on how to make a great henna paste. When I first started to work with henna I scoured the net looking to precise examples. You know step by step. No one site or one video had all the details that I have learned over time in a single spot. So here is my attempt to put the Henna Paste part in one spot. We shall see where this goes from here.... Happy 2009 and enjoy the first installment of "how-to" make henna paste.

Step 1

Step 2

Last Step

Finally, the tattoo work done using the paste created in this video set. At the end of the video, you will see the completed tattoo with the paste on and only 5 to 6 hours after the paste is off. The tattoo will continue to darken for the next several days.
